June Kimberly Lau’s fascination with butterflies led her to establish the world’s first pocket art accessories label. Since winning the Lane Crawford creative call-out and Design for Asia Award Bronze Award in 2016, she has seen her passion project realise a bespoke destination for gifts in the arcade of one of the world’s finest hotels. Each hand-crafted piece on display is designed to rejuvenate heritage art forms, with highlights including double-sided Su embroidery butterfly pocket art and lapel pins; intricate gorgets beaded by Indian artisans; obi-knot bow ties tied by Kyoto obi masters using antique, never worn kimono fabrics and hand-braided Italian leather serpentine belts doubling as necklaces – each one a wearable art piece with a story to tell.
