This pop-up presents a curated selection of Bohemian craftsmanship, featuring glass and porcelain works by 12 Czech artists and designers, including acclaimed brands Qubus and Křehký, alongside a special jewellery piece by Slovak designer Dick Wolf. Qubus products are characterized by the use of radical materials such as glass and porcelain, all created in local Bohemian workshops in collaboration with master artisans. This dedication to traditional craftsmanship ensures each piece bears the unique, authentic marks of handmade excellence.
The exhibition forms part of the Year of Czech Design in Hong Kong 2025, representing a strategic cross-cultural collaboration between the Consulate General of Czechia in Hong Kong, DOX by Qubus (Prague), and PMQ (Hong Kong). This initiative aims to foster bilateral creative dialogue, promote both emerging and established designers, and build lasting partnerships between the Czech and Hong Kong design communities. A central highlight is Qubus, a brand that has challenged conventions for 23 years. Founded by artist Jakub Berdych Karpelis, Qubus is the first Czech design shop with its own production, renowned for its inventive and often humorous designs that blur the line between art and functional object.
